I have myself gone on long, not quite strange, trip for inspiration, I wrote a blog post everyday while I was there. I have also sought out a workplace without internet. No wine or drugs for me though, I rely on and consume a fair amount of caffeine. I drank so much during my Uni years that I had wean myself off it. eventually. Then I graduated and I started drinking more, its great stuff for writing.
